There were three wise men.
The first man had a heart for money. He put in all his wisdom and became extremely rich.
The second man had a heart for power. He started a little gang, which grew into an army, and he became extremely powerful.
The third man was the wisest of the three, had a heart for love. He exuded charm and loved many, and became loved by many.
A time came, when the king of the land called the wise men to him. He knew they were the wisest men in the country and asked each of the men to give him all that they had.
The three wise men were wise. And the first man said, "The second man has great power, and surely you deserve all that, my king. That is the most important gift. Let him give you all that he commands." The king nodded.
The second man said, "The first man has great wealth, and with it you can buy anything under the sun, including my army if you wanted to. Surely that is the most important gift." The king nodded.
Now the third man remained quiet. The king asked him, "how about you?" "What should you give?" The third man said nothing. The first and second men said, "he has nothing that he owns." The third man nodded.
The king shook his head. He killed the third man immediately. And he spared the two other men. When the other two wise men asked the king why he had done that. The king said, "for all the wisdom that he had, he didn't use it."
The king then made the first and second men his advisers over all the land. And to his kingdom, great wealth and power was added. And they felt happy. And the third man was quickly forgotten.
And soon all time passed and all was forgotten. And when God looked at all that had passed. He found the three souls. And He was surprised because two of them were old and one was young. He said, "I gave you all the same talents, but you all used it for different things, but why are you different from the other two?"
The third man said. "They lived and enjoyed a glorious and long life on earth. Mine was short. And so I have to continue living the rest of my life here."
God asked "how do you know your life here is better that you didn't follow the others?"
The third man answered. "I don't know. In all you gave me, I simply didn't use it. I just followed my heart and it led me here." and God asked, "why didn't you use what you were given?"
The man answered, "my mother just taught me different." and immediately, the third man saw his mother appear from behind God. And she recognised him immediately because he had not aged. And God nodded.
