Don't you wish you just held on a little closer.
A little tighter.
Don't you just wish you could regret a little bit less
Change the past a little bit more
Don't you just wish we could work a bit more together
Give way to another a little bit longer
But sometimes we did what we do
What we have done has always changed us a little bit more of what we are today
Whether it is walking closer to God
Making a small choice to join a big company over our small and intangible God
Walking towards the sunset and away from the sunrise
Walking into the ocean and finding ourselves wetter
Don't people see what the world brings
And why do they continue to choose to follow it
Why do we focus on achievements in big places
When we know it's the small things that matter
Why do we focus on people climbing up over others
When we know Jesus sacrificed himself beneath all others
Why do we choose for a little bit more money
When a little less would have meant a little more for others
There's nothing that can change what we do
Or what you can do to me
It is all set in the mysteries of time and how our clock ticks
Every mistake, every success
How a war will start and how the sweetest story ends
Yet, maybe if we grip our little fingers a little bit more to what matters. We can gently shake the world.
