Sometimes we like to think of ourselves when we are lost in the wilderness as Moses or Jesus, going through a great, glorified trial of training that will build us up for greater leadership.
But, sometimes, we are also just like that little lost sheep or the prodigal son that wandered off by ourselves, driven by our fears, our temptations or by our pride.
Being lost is a reality.
And the Bible shortens in a few paragraphs or chapters, or even just a few sentences how quick they are found or how quick they return.
Yet being lost for ages is also a reality.
My colleague had Alpha used to tell me he can't believe that God will save people who have been bad all their lives, just for that one moment of repentance.
Yet being lost for a few years now, I understand first hand why that one moment is so important, even though we may be lost in ourselves or the world or just our emotions for ages. If I didn't have that one moment of hope, I'd be lost forever. Because of that one moment of grace, I know I will not be lost forever.
