Imagine a Tree
Roots reaching far and wide.
It watches over the field.
And has become home for many animals and birds.
It is magnificent.
It is admired by many.
Imagine this same tree.
Battered by winds and waves.
Scratched on by animals and people.
Dried up by the soil.
Infested with caterpillars.
It is dreary.
Ignored and slowly chopped down.
And we look to the heavens and ask.
God, where are thee in creation?
Why let such a tree fall.
Could you not have saved it from it's fate?
But you let it happen.
You made it easy for the rot.
Or is the tree meant to fail.
And so must come a day it does.
