I Know I Am Nothing

I know, at the end of the day, many things that have come and gone will be nothing.

The tears, the joys and successes - will eventually go black and get lost as many things come to pass.

Some will be scared of the eternal fire, and some will look to that eternal glory, and perhaps some will come face to face with their own demons and their own Gods - who may look nothing like they imagined it to be.

And so it has come today for me, a little inkling of what that feels like. Knowing all I have tried to do has come to nothing. And knowing all that I have done is nothing.

I'm ok being nothing.

They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I've given up trying to be something.

I know all these are utterly meaningless.

I'm happy looking into the abyss and seeing nothing there.

Who am I but a little speck of dust. Dust among dust.

Why is this speck of dust worth more than another.

Even if I displace another speck, does it make a difference?

Let the other specks glow, for it is ok to blend in with the vast abyss of nothing. It is better, in fact.

And even when that speck turns one day into the light.

The light among light.

Why is this ray of light worth more than another.

Even if I displace this light. Does it make a difference?

Let the other specks show it's shimmer, for it's ok to blend in with the vast spectrum of light. It is better, in fact.

This is the meaning of life - that we were all made equal.

Equally dark and equally bright.

And there is no need to be unique, cos that is man's failure.
