When Righteousness Fails Before You

When I chased God's righteousness...

It felt enough for so long....

Until you realise that your righteousness is not the same as others' righteousness...

When your refuge, your rocks in your life...

That is your church, your family...

Tell you something different..

Whether directly or indirectly...

For righteousness in all our eyes are the same as that in the world's eyes....

And all worldly righteousness faill...

And that Righteousness while upheld by so many others...

Is not the Righteousness that you knew..

That was from God that you initially chased so hard...

But it was our own righteousness that we wanted for ourselves...

It breaks you, doesn't it...

It utterly destroys you....

It lets you down....

To have your God break down and succumb to the world...

He never did...

But I did....

I broke down and succumbed to the world...

Because without righteousness, sin is also meaningless...

But in it's meaningless state, it is also equally righteous...

We failed ourselves...

And yet, there we stand, searching back for God's righteousness...

Still searching...

And you realise it's not found in the church, in the family, in the rocks of your life...

But is found in the Son...

Which is where we find grace...

Amazing Grace.
